Good Eats Marathon Today

He may be cheesy but he really does his homework for the show. Did you see the one about waffles, where he did a complete history on waffle irons and had all of the different models up? He's like a live Cooking for Dummies guy 🙂

i love this show! i enjoyed the behind the show one also. i did not know "W" was not an actress..

Ya, but some of those "tools" I think he pulls straight out of his you-know-what. I just wish he would be more mature with the delivery, which he's been better about in the more recent shows. Another cooking show I like is Americas Test Kitchen on PBS, they thoroughly test recipes to find the best. I made their pulled pork sandwhich recipe this weekend and it was really good.

Yes the acting can be campy/corny/cheesy, but overall I like the show a lot. He doesn't really use a lot of hard to find foods, difficult techniques, etc. It's all rather easy and straightforward.

Alton Brown cracks me up, his cheesy-ness makes the show so much better than most other cooking shows🙂

I agree. Most of the other cooking shows are just boring. AB rocks.

for anyone interested in cooking basics, his books are as great as the show and well worth having.

his "feasting on asphalt" show premiered and i thought it was pretty good.

I have two of his books, "I'm just here for the food", and "I'm just here for more food". They're very good, well written, more like reference books, certainly not a "cook book".
