Any body have any good advice on less expensive dynamat alternatives? I have heard of something called Ice Guard, but cant seem to find it anywhere. My use for this is two fold. I am trying to dampen vibrations in my car, and I am also needing to use it to soften the sound of my home's waterpump. My stepdad and I built a vented box around the water pump out of 2x4's and dry wall, and even though it helped, I dont think the drywall is very effective at softening the sound. For the water pump, I am looking for something that isn't to heat sensitive. I found something at walmart called Frost King Roofing and Guttering patch. It seems to be like dynamat but it has an aluminum layer to it. I am going to try and strip/peel off the aluminum.

Hunt around the car audio forums, this issue comes up over & over.

Virtually the same material is sold on a construction supplies web site for way less... that's what you want to get. (No, I don't remember the details, it's been like 3 years :))
