Good DVD-ROM for ripping?

There's a Toshiba 12x DVDROM at PC Century for $46. But I've heard some rumors that it rips slowly (at around 1x). What's a good internal IDE DVD-ROM that rips at a high speed?

no i have go to many forum about making divx movie and i see alot of post about this drive and most of the ppl said it rule and the new one 16x are suck it can only rip 2x

Yeah, it's the 16x Toshiba that only rips at around 2x with certain movies. Too bad I didn't know that when I bought mine. :frown: The 12x I've heard is very fast.
