Good DVD Playing Software

I have WinDVD but when playing a widescreen movie on my widescreen monitor it won't fill the screen.

I use Media Player Classic. It's a free download and works great. You can also use the plugins from programs like FFDShow to achieve very good upconverting results.

FFDshow is great. It's a bit hard to learn how to use, though.

PowerDVD works good for me.

Newer revisions of Powerdvd (6 for sure) have stretch modes in them.

PS If the movie is not the same aspect ratio as your monitor, pretty much guaranteed since none are 16x10, you will always have black bars.
