good DVD FAQ?

I want to burn movies to take to Iraq with me to play on my DVD player on my emachines laptop.

However, I notice there are DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD-DL....egads

my head hurts

instead of asking someone to explain the whole damnt hing to me, is there a good DVD FAQ out there

any help greatly appreciated.
