Good DVD drive for ripping?

I am looking for a cheap/reliable DVD drive for ripping purposes, basically I do not want to wear out my Pioneer a06 so I figured I would do all the ripping with a cheap DVD drive. Anything come to mind? Something that reads damaged media would definately be a plus.

I have a liteon 16x that rips nice and speedy. Be sure to enable DMA for that controller.
