I think the Pioneer 6x DVD slot load is a good bet I think you can get that for $150 or less in USA.

Dunno about the DVD drive, but I know your card does have basic motion compensation which helps in DVD playback, but your CPU will still be doing most of the work. It should look pretty nice as long as you have a PII-450 or faster processor so you don't drop frames. Forget about using your computer for anything else while watching a movie, but I can't figure out why anyone would want that anyway. YOU ARE WATCHING A MOVIE! 🙂

The ATI cards are the best for DVD playback, but geForces are not bad.

for cpu power i got an athlon 900mhz
howbout these drives?

Pioneer slot is the best -6x if you don't want the noise of the 10x, or the bother of flashing with a hacked ROM to make it region free. But if you want to save yer scratch and particularly if it is going to be a secondary drive mainly just for movies then you can get one for about $40-45 from compgeeks and such. CG has a 10% MasterCard discount. I was just over there and see they have a new portable MP3 CD player for $99. So I'm a thinkin': "What's the catch?".

Ah, now I see you just posted a follow up.. of course you don't have to worry about the GeForce MC since the CPU can do it full anyway. You should use CineMaster or PowerDVD or something that supports it though. Don't know about the Memorex... I would do a google, askjeeves, or deja search to find out manufacturer and quality and such... mebbe find a review. Good luck.
