As for DVD X Copy I heard that its not a very good piece of software. So I got Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD, but it does not copy copyrighted DVD movies (which most of them are) but I figured away around it by using a freeware called DVD Shrink to rip and compress the DVD movie then use Pinnacle Instant Copy to re-encode the VOB files and Burn it to a DVD-R. With DVD Shrink you can compress the entire DVD movie and keep all the special features or you can remove unwanted material to lessen the compression to get better quality.

DVD X Copy will make an exact copy of any DVD. Most DVD's are double density so it might require two blanks for one motion picture DVD. Just dont buy DVD X Copy express, it only copies the movie and not the menu or special features. If you really want to check it out, google it and you will get a million reviews. It also might be worth noting that the RIAA is suing the makers of DVD X Copy which means it probably does something they dont like (which is usually something that we do).

Actually I use DVDXCopy Xpress and It's awesome. It doesn't copy the menus and special features, but I dont wanna waste 2 DVD's just for a single movie. I've been very happy with the results of Xpress. Also you can pick the audio track you want it to rip. Good stuff.
Also its not the RIAA that is suing DVDXcopy manufacture, its the MPAA. 🙂
