good dvd burner for the buck

hey, i was looking around for some good dvd burners. so far the best i've seen is the NEC 2510A bulk at newegg (around $75) NEC dual layer 2510A OEM BULK i was wondering if there is gonna be a -r dual layer sometime in the near future and if i should wait for that to come out to get a new dvd burner, or just get this in the meantime. Or, if you guys have found anything better please let me know.

go ahead and get the NEC 2510A, allot of people here have it or they are like me and modded their 2500 into it. a big moding community exists for this drive.

dude, we cant even get dual layer +media avaiable in quantity or at a good price point, i dont think that is going to happen anytime soon.

alright thanks a lot. btw, i was looking at the reviews, out of like 80 reviews, it got 3-4 stars and one 2-star. the rest were 5 stars. i think i'm prob. gonna end up buying this sometime thi sweek

If it is NOT a dual layer, the price is going to drop like a rock real quick. Newegg has the NEC and Sony dual layer available.

I will recomend the Liteon SOHW-812BK 8X DVD Dual Rewriter (Black) Retail , it is slightly faster in the cd, and dvd-r area, and has a similar price. The difference is worth it especially bc its Retail.

Whats the big deal about dual layer? Half of the DVD players I've seen cant even read them.

i would also recommend that drive
