good digital camera?

I've been thinking about getting a digital camera for quite a while, i just haven't been saving enough money for one. I don't have a lot of money to spend on a digital camera. I don't even really know what they cost, but i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good or at least decent digital camera?

If u have a suggestion, please list the average price of the camera too. thanks

i really like my nikon coolpix885

maximum budget....well, i guess it depends on when i pull together the money for one and how spontaneous i'm feeling....i'd say prolly a max of 350, but that's not in concrete, i really don't know how much they cost, so if i'm way off on price range here, have a free laugh on me

i would probably use it for:
* pictures for my webpage (car stereo install, computer pics, friends etc.)
* holidays(xmas), vacations
* the joy of not having to get film developed
nothing major, but i want decent quality, i'm not like a photography major or anything, and i'm certainly no expert at taking pictures

good camera, but i'd go with nikon coolpix775 (my personal weapon of choice)... very nice camera and a lot closer to that 350 dollar price

you should be able to snag the S110 for just under $350, there's nothing smaller or lighter, and takes excellent photo quality (and quick vids as well).
