i was inspired to get an hdtv (my first)

when a buddy of mine thats moving out of state needed to sell his, and it big to move

we waitined together online @ walmart on blackfriday for 8 hours to purchase this for $500

well he offerd it to me @ a price of $400

is it a good deal?

or should i spend $600 on a ~37inch olevia lcd?

basically its my first tv, and i was wondering if i was getting a deal.

oh btw, i will be using directv with an off air hdtv(~$30) antenna for local channels (and nfl seasons)

That is an awesome price, I wouldn't mind having that for the price, right now i have a 32" olevia that I paid 600 for but damn, thats a awesome price.

still IMO still a great price, research on how long the tv lamps last, thats the only con i think. But RCA has been great to me.

I have the 52" (had it for about a year and a half now). It's not a bad TV, but your format choices are shoddy (you won't get 1080 anything, and 720p can show up in a grid fashion).

If you pick it up, make sure you stretch the image for the whole screen (yes, it distorts the image somewhat) when watching normal TV, else you're going to end up with burn-in (I had to have RCA come out and fix mine because of this).

Otherwise, like I said...pretty decent TV for the money.

No HDMI, only one DVI, RCA doesn't have the best name in the HD world. Seems like a less than stellar tv but for $400 what the hell...why not.

400 is a steal, sure RCA is one of the only us brands but still its a name brand, not some foreign cheap ass brand.

it's a good price... but don't you have to change the bulb every 2,3 years or so?

personally too big and heavy for me. i say a 42-inch LCD would be the biggest i'd get.

$400 is a great deal assuming it doesn't break after the first year.
