Good deal? Something wrong with it? Usable? ( $350 Lenovo laptop).

Seems like the appropriate section to post this in, if any.

Store advertises it as "was 799 now 349," but i'm sure their original price is bogus. Or I would be sure if I could find any info. This model seems peculiar to this one store, somehow, and there's no commentary available online in any language. Assume the ram can't be upgraded. There's also no m2 slot. It does have a dvd burner (not listed below). It also has an ssd, and a windows 10 license! It is tn, however.

General IT related coursework uses, presumably some "compiling" to do, whatever that means, ms office, and a browser. Can kaby lake run youtube? Even if you're very cynical? Hearthstone? 6gb enough for a few chrome tabs? My phone has 6gb ram. It's a little concerning. Desktop is an old but decent 2600, 16gb, 1070. Last laptop owned was 10 years ago. 700m. Was awful. Resented using it. Probably the worst mistake of my life was buying that laptop. Do I buy another cheap laptop? I'm being compelled to own one again. Would this thing be aight?

roughtly $350

That is not out of line for an Ideapad - the low end of Lenovo's food chain.

I think it's hard to tell if it's out of line or not. It's confusing. Apparently the cheapest US lenovo ideapad 320 is an i5, with 8gb ram, but 1366 x 768 (wtf?), and no SSD, and it costs $500. At least according to newegg. I think i'd rather have this 7100u, 6gb, 256gb ssd, HD one for $350. But I'm not sure. Based on parts of my extensive 1.5 lifelong hours spent researching the subject, I've gathered that these i3s and i5s aren't as different as they are in the desktop world.

Was hoping that it's an unusual configuration, and cheaper than usual. Good value, or something. Maybe it's just old stock. But it's kaby lake? It's confusing.

The one you post is an i3. It could be an open box item.

It's apparently available in 83 of their stores, including two in my area. Actually the lenovo us website does have the an i3 model, but it's 1366 768, because it's touch screen. Also no ssd, and only 4gb ram. And $429. http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/laptop...series/Lenovo-IdeaPad-320-15IKB/p/88IP3000842

So quite a difference. Only other explanation is a typographical error on the website. But it's been days, maybe weeks (based on search result history - I just noticed today, and obviously I'll call in the morning). Otherwise, it does seem good, right? That specific config vs not just other region's lenovo's but anything else. Only chromebooks or celerons cost as little. With an ssd! And windows! lenovo india actually ships their version with dos. True story. (but also 1080p screen, non touch).
