Hi!

I recently came across what I think is a really good deal for a Gainward 128MB AGP8x GeForce4 Ti4200 ($75), but I'm not sure if it's the best buy for me.

This is my system:

Athlon XP 1700+ Tbred overclocked to 1.84 GHz
256MB DDR RAM (PC2100 i think...)
GeForce 2 Ultra 64MB <--- replacing this
120GB Western Digital HD

I'm the kind that just wants to spend as little as possible, and wait on purchases when I can. But my gfx card is about to become obsolete, and this one looks good enough to tide me over for a good while more (I don't play shooters). Or am I wrong?

That sounds like a good deal for $75, especially for a ti4200 with 8x. The 8x version's ram is clocked a little bit higher than the older 128mg version. And it's definitely an upgrade from your GF2 Ultra. Tell you what, if you don't want it let me know because I might want it :D

Had a GW Ti4200 4X 128mb Golden Sample myself; thought it was a terrific card. Sold it only because I got a good deal on a Radeon 9800. You found a good deal; buy it and be happy!
