Just checked the New Egg specials and found this case on the Daily Deals email:

Rosewill TU-155

Price is ordinarily $59.99 + $17 shipping to my house. The special price is an instant $5 off plus free shipping, so I'd be saving a nice chunk of change.

Two quick question before I pull the trigger, though:
1) Is this is in general a good quality case? The reviews on NewEgg were very positive generally.

2) It comes with a 400W power supply, and I'm curious if this would be enough to power a low-medium end gaming system. Here's the setup:

DVD-writer
WD 320 gig HDD
Abit IP-35 mobo
Overclocked e2160 CPU
Most likely an 8800 GT video card

If anyone is interested, the promo code is EMC1023RMSE01

Not anywhere near as good as the R5600 series or the R6A series. And the PSU is a bottom-feeder L&C. Some of the better series are on sale too.

If you want that PSU to blow up any of your other components, by all means go ahead and use it. It might not blow up today, might not for 6 months, but it will blow up sooner or later :p It will have like 20-25a on the 12v rails, and it will be pushed pretty hardy by a 8800gt and a overclocked e2160. Spend 50$ or so on a antec earthwatts 500w PSU. Perhaps corsair vx450. Whatever comes cheaper. You want something with at least 30a on the 12v rails.

Hmm, this is getting tricky. Went back and double-checked another thread that Zepper was kind enough to answer some questions on and realized I missed another reply there. He recommended an Antec B-stock SLK3000 with an Antec power supply. That's definitely starting to look like the best option.

The problem is that I'm stretching my budget to the bleeding edge to pick up an 8800 GT, so I'm trying to save a little bit of cash where I can. Case/PSU isn't exactly one of the more exciting parts, so it also seems like the most tempting place to pinch a few pennies. Problem being, of course, that it keeps everything else running. Guess I'll just have to suck it up.

That said, anyone know of any other great deals for around 50 bucks, give or take a bit?

And thanks again for the help. :)

Sorry mate, problem is that a decent PSU costs 30-50$, one that can run a 8800gt and other components that is. Add a case to that, and you're looking to spend 75$ at least or so. My guess is that a antec earthwatts 420w will be able to power your rig, so that's the least you should go with ... It can be had for 30$ AR, here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817371006

Then look up a case that fit's the budget.

Sounds good. As the initial giddiness of the 8800 GT benchmarks wears off, I think I may just end i[ putting the cash into a better case and power supply now, and saving a bit on a video card. I'll likely only be putting serious gaming time into WoW for a while, so I could pick up something like an ATI 1950PRO that'll play the hell out of it, then snag something next-gen in the spring before Age of Conan or Warhammer Online comes out.

That is indeed a good option, WoW sucks anyways, graphicswise, and gameplay wise. Sucks the live right out of ya :p You could also quit playing WoW, imagine all the monthly fees you no longer have to pay :p

The R5601 is a nice version of the series, I like the movable louvers to get air flow w/o noise and the 270 degree opening door, but many won't put up with the dedicated floppy bay and would rather have the generic 3.5" external bay of the other versions. The 5605 is sort of a mix of the 5601 and 5604 with the generic 3.5" external bay and the 270 deg. door. All have top ports.

I've owned this case.

Its a veritable heat trap.

The front fan doesn't pull any air from outside; it just recirculates whatever
is flowing within the case, which makes the side panel fan too important, imo.
the case front is too well sealed-up, quite unlike the Antec 900.

Your room ambient temps need to be low. the side panel is only 80mm to
92mm and can only be mounted by removing the vent attachment which
comes with the window.

syzygy,

Several cases were mentioned between the OP and yours. Which one are you talking about? If it the case mentioned by the OP, it is the typical, cheap generic ATX case that Rosewill generally packages on which you have to cut out the restrictive grills front and rear to get decent air flow - nothing unusual about that.
