Office Depot (at least here in Los Angeles) is selling 100 sheets of inkjet photo paper for $24.99 (normally $39.99). The advertisement was in yesterday's (Sunday) L.A. Times. Buy two packages and combine it with this coupon (plus whatever to get to $50), and you end up saving $45.

I printed the coupon out on my inkjet printer, cut it out, and went over there today at lunch. The cashier squinted at it, but didn't say anything. She punched in the code and $15 came off of the total.

I've used the paper before. It seems to be okay. It looks as good as any other.

Do you have a SKU? I wanna see which photo paper it is, unless it's their brand.

It's there own paper...od that is. still, not a bad deal, I've not noticed too much difference between the different photo papers.

I'm not sure what this means but the officedepot photo paper is 10ml and the hp premium paper is 9ml. So the officedepot premium paper may even be better! The SKU is 652-001

This paper is actually highly regarded by some. Most think it is "rebadged" Konica QP paper which works extremely well with the Epson series (particulary the 870, 875, and 1270).
I have yet to try it but others think it prints as well or better than the Epson Premium High Gloss.

Here is one forum that has mentioned the office depot paper:

I'd like to know what "paper type" should I choose in my HP 900 series printer with this paper?

Sounds ok, but not great. I buy 8.5" x 11" Premium High Gloss Inkjet paper that is 32# weight (don't know about the other numbers) from Red River Paper. 100 sheets are $40.12 delivered to my door. Stock #8500. This is excellent with my Epson Sylus Color 900 printer in Gloss mode. Believe it is redriverpaper.com

Well, just re read the topic! Does sound good. Forgot to read the $24.99 whatever. Oh well, I just restocked 2 weeks ago. Thanks, tho

Another avenue is the Epson photo paper at costco. $19.99 will get you 100 sheets. This paper is regarded the tops within the photography (commercial) industry.

If it is IBM glossy photopaper forget about buying it. It is a POS. It's basically regular computer paper with gloss sprayed on it. I stupidly bought a 50 pack of it thinking it was pretty cheap. I've found the best paper is Kodak or HP.

Guys, I checked out the paper and it is 10.25 thickness. I did read on a newsgroup that in some HP printers you can see rollermarks on the paper because it is so thick. I've decided not to get it for that reason. But the price is great if you can use it.

The Costco here in Sacramento carries the Konica brand photo paper. 50-pack is $9.99. I haven't tried the epson brand paper yet but the Konica paper has given me awesome results.

I just bought the HP P1100 last week from CompUSA for $249 (close-out). I'm still evaluating its performance.

I used the Office Depot paper through the printer and I'm not getting any roller marks. However I'm getting three sets of double-line scratches all the way across the paper, from top to bottom. These scratches are very fine, but they're there nonetheless.

I get the same scratches using the HP photo quality inkjet paper, and the HP brochure & presentation paper as well; basically any thick glossy paper. The scratches don't seem to show up on matte paper (or at least is not as apparent). There must be something sharp in there that glossy paper doesn't like.

I noticed some forum posts over at dpreview.com describing the same problem on other HP printers. So it must be systemic. I may have to return the printer or learn to live with it.

The 15 off 50 coupon expired on 1/27/01. The one linked to in this thread is a forgery. The original looks nothing like it; the forgery has been done using the $10 off $50 coupon where the coupon code and expiration date have been altered. It may be risky to use it.

The thing is, the code on the coupon did work yesterday according to the other person. So it may not be a fake after all. Anyway you can always use a $25 off of $75 at staples to get some paper as well.

Well, I just ran down to OD to pick up a couple of packs and use 5243 given to cashier verbally. $35 for 200 sheets!

I just printed two 8x10 prints on my Epson 1270:
One with Epson Premium High Gloss-----excellent results
Second one with the OD Premium High Gloss------even better results in my opinion!
(It's at least as thick as the Epson paper)

I can only vouch for the Epson 870,875 and the 1270 series. I would think the other 800 series would work well also.

Epson printers use an oil base ink and HP and others use a water base so results may be different on different printers.
There is no one paper that will work well with all printers. You just keep testing until you find a great paper.

I think I will make another run tomorrow for 2 more boxes!

To carlgibbs: What makes you say it is a forgery? If it was an invalid coupon, the computers at OD would reject it as soon as it is entered. I used it twice so far. That is pretty lousy thing to say, especially when it is not true.

nippyjun,

Just printed the same 8x10 on my HP930 (same engine as the 900 and 1000 series)

Pretty darn good! Probably the best photo that I've got out of my 930.
Used just the photoret /premium gloss paper settings.

rebuilder, no problem with roller marks?

Mrelectric, what paper type setting did you use for the OD paper?

One more question. When you chose a different paper type such as Premium or Premium plus does it change roller height, or does it just affect the amount of ink used? Or what is actually changed by selecting one paper type over another?
