Anyone know if this would be a good Dremel kit for general case mods? I've heard that the corded, variable speed models are the ones to get, and this one at amazon looks like it has lots of attachments for a good price. anyone have this model?

YEAH! The flex-shaft attachment costs over $30 alone if you buy it seperately!

It's a good kit, but that price isn't quite the deal they're saying it is. I bought that same exact kit at Lowe's for about $72.00. It also comes with a lawnmower blade sharpening attachment... ;)

I saw this as well. Not sure if its a "great" deal. But with the accessories and flex shaft Im probably going to finally pick one up.

I use a similar dremel kit and also got it at Lowe's...go to the Lowe's website and fill out a mover's form and they will send you a 10% off coupon...then go pick up that bad puppy and mod away!!!!

Anyone know where I can find a good deal on a basic dremel kit that will be good enough for a newbie modder? I'm just planning to cut a hole for my window mod and it will have curving. Thanks.

Naruto...you could just use a jigsaw to make that cut instead of the dremel. Jigsaw ususally faster with the cut out. Use a jigsaw blade made for metal and you shouldn't have any trouble with the cut. Not trying to talk you out of getting a dremel...they are great tools, but the jigsaw works wonders for cutting larger metal openings...just my opinion....

no dremel kit will do it.

if you're dead set on using dremel, get some diamond cutting disks and deburring bits from www.widgetsupply.com
