good deal for a set of bongos?

i found a guy selling a set of lp matadors for $50. looks like great condition, except for a crack in the smaller drum that goes all the way through. doesn't affect the playing. would it eventually? should i hold out?

maybe when you replace the head the crack will fully realize itself
i would talk him down
