I've had similar requests for items that I've sold in the past. I sold a car early this spring. I'm still getting requests from abroad to sell my old car to them -- and they'll even cover the shipping to get it to them. I've had about 3 such requests.

Sorry, but I smell a scam.

I would be very careful here. He doesn'y like money order? Refuses paypal? His credit card into your merchant account. A merchant account you will have to give him details of?

I have a problem trusting people, I know. But this is too weird for me.

🙂

It is a well known scam that's been going around for quite some time now. However I have known a few people that like to toy with these folks.

I must admit I had some guy from Italy tell me he was interested in a few things. Said he wanted to meet me in london while he was over.

Arranged it n everything and left him to it. Didnt expect a reply but surely enough this guy emailed saying "Where were you".

I felt like a bit of an arsehole because I didnt expect this guy to be legit 🙁

Shame as well, was for an old painting I probably will never have another chance to sell :|

hehehe Im from Indonesia!!

well but currently studyin in the us though...

Some guy from Indonesia used Buy It Now on an item of mine several weeks ago. I specified on my auction that I would ship only within the U.S., that shipping was fixed at $7, and I would only take PayPal or money orders. After he 'won' he e-mailed me, telling me to ship the mic to Indonesia via Global Priority Mail, and that he would send cash and he was only going to pay $5 shipping. I was thinking WTF you prick, but instead I e-mailed him professionally and told him I was canceling our transaction, and told him to read the description more carefully next time (I filed a non-paying bidder alert to get my fees back). He then replied and 'granted' me permission to cancel the auction. What a maroon.

Seriously, what is up with Southeast Asia and mail/internet scams.

i want to know how many people actually fall for that scam, it seems though a lot do since we all get these emails....
