Im contemplating whether to pick up a 10lb back of O.N. Protien Power for $45 or buy a 5Lb bag for $25 and get creatine as well

creatine is creatine ... brand doesn't matter squat.

PS. I miss the gym and can't wait to get back to it in 2 weeks 🙁 🙁 🙁

I eat the whites of hard boiled eggs.... why would you drug yourself up? you're doing this to help maintain a healthy, active lifestyle, right?

and you DO know that creatine is a substance that is naturally produced by your body already, right?

it has nothing to do with eating healthy, creatine isn't even in food.

EDIT: oh yea, in his post he mentions protein 😛, sorry. and yes, i do protein as well because i don't get the desired amount from foods alone.

No im grabbing more of this because i try to eat 6 meals a day and sometimes dont habve enough time to in in the morning or mid day at work. I protien shake helps out a lot

"Red meat (beef) and fish are rich in creatine. A large serving of meat provides only 1 gram of creatine. [4] Because creatine is sensitive to heat, normal cooking preparation may result in the substantial loss of available creatine from meat and fish, particularly if the food is fully cooked, which generally is advisable."

i take 5 grams a day (not including meat) and I don't load.

as far as creatine goes, i dont think there is a huge difference between brands.

I have been using Nutrabiotics brand Creatine consistently for the past month and I've seen really good results... just make sure you drink a lot of water or else you wont see results (or the results wont be as drastic). My bench increased incredibly (in the beginning of Jan, my last set was 135lbs, now its 185). I've been on creatine and protein (3 shakes a day = 150g extra protein) and working out 4 or 5 days a week.

I hope you are ordering from www.bodybuilding.com... they really have the lowest prices on just about everything. Although I did buy the Nutrabiotics creatine directly from Nutrabiotics (they are also the #1 health supplement company on eBay if you prefer that route). I use NOW Protein it's so cheap and tastes sooo good (chocolate)

Of course if you are considering creatine supplementation, a person should supplement instead of trying to 'eat' the creatine in foods that are rich in amino acids. The important part is for people who consider it a 'drug', that it not only is creatine in meat, but it also is a naturally-occuring substance in our bodies.

Neither.

You're dumb.

Take creatine right after workout with simple sugars. Some say use grape juice, but I wouldn't. Go to your local home-beer brewing supply shop (or online) and order some dextrose and if you want order some malto-dextrin. When I did it I used 25g of dex and 25g of malto with 5-10g of creatine. Works well, and is very, very cheap.

Why don't you get a 10lb bag of protein AND some creatine? If you know where to shop that shouldn't run you more than $75 total and last quite some time. Creatine-monohydtrate by Prolab is only $20 for 1000grams. A 10lb bag of ON protein should be any more then $50-55.

Yes, creatine is a drug...

Oh brother, someone please help the supplement sheep here.

I wouldn't say bodybuilding.com has the lowest prices, BUT, for overall service and support they really can't be beat

on the east coast i would recommend 1fast400.com . its a flat $5 shipping fee for UPS ground, and he's located in NC. i live in MD and have my stuff w/in 2 days. good price as well.

I've bought This a couple of times already, and it works great when I'm bulking up. They used to have the picture up on the site, so it didn't used to look as ghetto, but it is good stuff and I've had no problems with buying from that site. I believe it's actually re-badged Creapure because they have a real tiny logo on the jug. I can't remember exactly, because I'm at work so I can't look directly at it.

1000g of good creatine for under 20 bucks is pretty good, though. Just take 5g (teaspoon) after lifting and you should be alright. Maybe take one in the morning as well for the first couple of days, for the heck of it. Loading is a waste, unless you are desperate for being loaded without waiting like a week to get it to accumulate.

Depending on your intentions, I would say if you are trying to bulk up and gain weight, get the creatine, as it is one of the very few supplements out there that actually works. If you don't know exactly what you are doing, or the implications of doing so, and are just trying to "get in shape" you'd be better off staying away from things that you don't know about until you do your research about how they actually work and what they do. Creatine isn't some magical supplement that gets you hyuugee. If you are just starting out, I'd reccommend learning how to have a non-retarded diet and exercise program first and foremost before starting to look into supplements.

Honestly though, questions like this aren't really suited for this forum. You will get a bunch of people that have no clue what they are talking about responding with stupid uninformed responses. There is the occasional rare computer geek/fitness buff but we are few and far between.

The forums over at bodyrecomposition.com have some decent advice on creatine, amongst other things, if you do a search. www.hypertrophy-specific.com has some good stuff. The articles section over at drsquat.com has some decent lifting advice. Even some of the articles over at davedraper.com are decent reads, but he plugs his stuff a lot so be weary of it.

EDIT: Oh yeah, this goes without saying, but don't buy the pre-sweetened or pre-flavored creatine blends. They are a waste of $$$. You can go buy some dextrose and flavoring to add to your creatine powder for much cheaper, and that is virtually all they add to that kind of stuff. You are much better off buying the straight-up powder.

Just to add my 2 cents:

At the same time I was hitting up the gym a lot to gain weight, there was a competition between this guy who was trying to gain 10 pounds and a guy who was trying to lose 20. The guy who was trying to gain 10 pounds used Creatine and when I asked my trainer and several others about it, they all said pretty much the same thing. It just makes you look bigger, it's not actual muscle, and as soon as you get off of it you'll lose what you gained from it.

They were right too, as soon as the guy stopped using it, he lost some of the weight. He also lost some of the look he got from it too.

Really? You mean that I should go out and pay for something my body naturally produces, or that I can get from just eating right? That would surely be genius:roll:
