The ThermalTake Silent boost and Venus 12 are good price/performance/noise options.

I read the reviews of Zalman 7000 on newegg " word of warning, this thing does not fit (if you follow the instructions) into the Athlon64 standard backplate. ". Is anyone using this for A64 and whats the way to get around the problem.

I have a MSI K8N Neo Platinum motherboard and the Zalman 7000(a), I didn't want to remove the backplate, and I read that brass motherboard risers would work.

I put those on the female backplate risers, and it creates a height the same (maybe a mm shorter, so if anything you get better cpu contact) as the big risers included for use with their backplate. It keeps my junk cool just fine.
