Eating out every day costs a lot, so I figured I should learn how to cook to save some cash.

(Can't live offa pad thai forever)

Suggestions?

hightimes.com has a great video about cooking with alternative spices that enhance the rest of the meal :) (yeah its a real DVD)

great shows

"ultimates" and "food 911" with tyler florence isnt as easy, but good stuff. i made the "ultimate" cheesecake for thanksgiving and my family wouldnt believe it was me who made it

Yeah yeah.. month past due ;P But yeah Good Eats is a great show. Alton does a very good job of explaining everything.

Buy a crock pot and some of those disposable containers (Gladware, etc) make a few of the recipies in the booklet that comes with your slow cooker.

I just got one of the newer crock pots with a built in timer, that way if you don't get home on time, your food doesn't overcook.

Allrecipies has a slow cooker section, with lots of slow cooker recipies.

Freaking furnace broke last night, playing hooky fixing it today so I popped a turkey breast with a bunch of spices in the slow cooker. Smells good already.

Just got one this christmas.. I loves it.. and made a tasty roast.. mmm hungry.
