hey all you canadians!

thanks in advance

Start at the corner of Spadina and College.

There are about 10 places on College just east of Spadina.

There are also about 10 more places on the East side of Spadina just south of College.

My fave is Filtech on Spadina.

I always buy my stuff from Promax Computer Systems. They seem to have the best prices on most parts and I've never had any hassles with exchanging defective hardware. I've gotten four complete computer systems from them in the past year not too mention numerous parts, 2 HD, motherboard, CPU, bunch of RAM, CD Writers... etc. no problems what so ever. I think if you buy a lot of computer hardware it's more important to develope a good relationship with the shop then just buy from the place with the lowest price. Cause now when I go buy parts at Promax, they usually give me $5 or $10 dollars off without me even asking. It's not much but it shows they appreciate your business and want you back, and I can't say that about alot of shops I've been too.

After I bought a 1.2Ghz Tbird CPU mailorder, I emailed them about AMD dropping prices the next week (when Intel was going to drop theirs). They took the time to phone me long distance and talk to me. No email crap with them. I will do business with them again. Good prices, quick shipping for mail orders. I think they would be a good place to shop.

My last system was built component by component at ICCT Computers just north of Toronto (Warden and Steeles). With the exception of Razor Computers (which doesn't keep their stuff on hand and in stock), I don't know of many cheaper yet reliable stores in the GTA.

I've dealt with the guy who runs Bigfoot Computers in person, he's a good guy and pretty reliable. Doesn't deal in much other than cooling and overclocked parts, though. Greytech, which someone already mentioned, is also fantastic. I'd just warn against buying from Factory Direct, whose low prices are 9 times out of 10 too good to be true - through the old bait-and-switch, or other means.
