good college in northern/central cali?

Hi, lemme describe my situation... Last year i was at Iowa State Univ, for a year, i left because it was more work than i wanted to put in. I've been at a local community college, raised my grades a little, and I'm generally ready to get school out of the way. I'm looking at schools, perhaps back to ISU i don't know, Could some of you recommend some good schools in Northern/Central California that have good Economics or MIS programs? Thanks

Are there slightly smaller schools? Uc-Berkley is great, i will check into it.
