I don't drink coffee so I know squat about the makers. My parents drink coffee all through out the day and just have a regular drip style maker that has to burn the coffee and make it taste like crap after a few hours. Are there any that will keep it fresh for a long time? I know there are ones that make a single cup at a time but I doubt they want to wait for it to brew a cup every time they want one or have to deal with adding water and grinds constantly. I'd prefer no special filters and it needs to be easy to use too. My Mom can barely work the Tv.

My dad has a mr coffee that doesn't have a burner. It has an insulated carafe which will keep the coffee hot for a few hours. Not sure how much it cost though, my grandparents got it for him.

Cuisinart or Bunn.

Cuisinarts have a goof proof "stop and pour" feature which is usually the thing that causes other makers to dump coffee all over the countertop.

My wife and I got a Cuisinart as a wedding gift. It is far and away the best coffee maker I've ever owned. I love the carafe since it's thermal and doesn't spill down itself when you pour.
