Trying to expand my library, I think I have a good number of the more well known ones, and would like some more good symphonies or violin concertos. Any suggestions? I know those who appreciate classical music are few in number, but its worth shot. Prove me wrong! :)

oh and no contemporary classical pieces please. I loathe those with a passion :)

hmmmm.......
Mendelssohn's concerto in E minor (all 3), Massenet's Meditation from Thais, the Butterfly Lovers' Violin Concerto (I have the Vanessa Mae version)...Bach's concerto for 2 violins in classic, Bach's Brandenburg concertos, Saint-Saens' Introduction and Rondo Cappricioso...

still violin, but not quite classical...one of the most beautiful pieces imo is Carlos Gardel's Por Una Cabeza...great tango piece.

:D

I like Led Zepplin 3 probably the best. Some other suggestions include Pink Floyd "the wall", Fleetwood Mac "Rumors" and Nirvana "Nevermind".

Franz Liszt's "Les Preludes" is a great song. And although it's recent, if you can find a copy of Mark Camphouse's "Watchman, Tell Us of the Night," that's also an incredible song.

A gnutella search for "classical techno" will yield some interesting results. :)
