A few days ago my northbridge cooler died and its slowing my system down with its high temps. So I need a good cooler to keep this baby cool.

Nothing fancy just something that will fit a DFI LP Ultra D,I don't like the placement of the NB as its right under the GPU card and I can't use any big coolers :(.

Thanks :)

IF you want a better cooler i got a Vantec Iceberq 4. Not the pro, but the regular Iceberq4. Both don't fit, so yo uneed dremelling work. The Pro is even larger, so you would have to do more modding work.

Some guys on XtremeSystems used these Spire coolers which are the same as Vantec Iceberqs. There are a lot of coolers that use these OEM designs and look the same and so you could follow any guide that has a hsf that looks like an Iceberq4. I grabbed my cooler @ Fry's.

Try the Evercool VC-RE. Copper, reasonably quiet, and fits under the video card on DFI boards.

Totally agree there, it's what I have and works excellenty. But the OP should probably try straight AS5, and see how temps are after lowering the fan speed, then evaluate if he needs to replace the heatsink/fan.

I plan on doing some heavy ocing and I doubt the as5 alone will keep the beast tamed. But I'll try anyway, removing these fans are such a pain so I will wait when I move to my new case(coming soon) to try it.

But I will likely buy the VC-RE as well.

Do you have an intake fan that will move air over the chipset?

I unplugged my chipset HSF and just left it on there. My front intake fan moves air over it, and it only brought my temps up by 1-2c. Hardly worth the $10+ and the hassle of installing another cooler for the chipset. For me that would mean unplugging everything and taking my mobo out, which I *just* did when I installed my Big Typhoon and I sure as hell don't feel like doing it again.

Yea I know how you feel,I hate the way those chipset fans are implemented. This is why I don't plan on touching it until I move to my next case lol.

I don't have an intake on this one but I will try to place one of my system fans near it for now, thanks for the idea.
