Good cheap video card?

I built a computer for my girlfriend about a year ago. It is crashing a lot and I suspect the ATI video card. I want to replace it with an nVidia card. I was hoping to get something cheap and fairly good for about $60. However, everything being sold is PCIe.

PCIe is great for new computers but what should I do with an existing AGP based system? Either waste a lot of money on an overpriced underpowered AGP card still being sold, or get a whole new motherboard/CPU/video card?

What would everyone here recommend?

9600XT, $70-80
6600GT, $120

What exactly do you want to use it for? The ATi 9550 is around $60, too.

I have a Geforce 3 Ti-200 I'll sell you for $30 shipped. Great card really passive cooled - used to be top of the line just a couple years ago.
