Good cheap soundcard

I'm looking for a cheap sound card that provides good sound. I've got an X-Fi Fatal1ty which is constantly crapping out and frankly, I'm sick of it. When it works, its perfect but eventually I get the old SCP problems and I've given up trying to make it work over the past year and a half. I originally had it in my XP system where it worked for a couple months just fine before dying, Ever since, I went back to the original Audigy soundcard. Moving to Vista64, I gave it another go. Perfect for a week then no matter what i do now, it just constantly dies within 5 minutes, providing no sound.

SO! now I'm using onboard sound which is ok but perhaps if there was something that sounds similar in quality to the xfi and at a cheap price (<$100) I may be interested. I never bothered with crystalizer and CMSS 3D with the xfi since it reduced sound quality (IMO, songs ripped from CDs). Is there anything out there thats could fit the bill? Thanks.
