I've started running recently and I really get a lot more motivated when I have a really grinding track on my headphones. Not that I run very long (about 30 minutes) but I like to have a variety of music to make my playlists. I have an old 256MB Creative Muvo and it's a little cramped now. I basically make my playlist in Winamp to determine length, then prefix the songs on the player so they'll play in order. Because I usually only rename a few songs it's not that big of a hassle. It's also nice that I can keep the player in my pocket as I run (it tends to get in the way on the treadmill). I also like it that I can separate it from the battery pack and just plug it into a USB port on my comp to add/change songs.

This makes me think that a new Muvo with 2GB would fit the bill. They're about $40 at Walmart which is not too bad. Before I pull the trigger, is there anything better than this for about the same price?

I like the new Stone more than I like the MuVo ... I still have my TX, and love it's functionality, but it seems so dated.

What do you like more about the Stone? It looks like it has even fewer features than the MuVo.

There's a stone review at http://cossacks.org.uk/compute...en-stone-mp3-player-2/ check it out there. The stone seems to be really small and light, it would be great to carry along for an exercise. The best part should be the simplicity in terms of usage and files transfer.

Great news! Recently, they have introduced more stone players one with screen another with builtin speaker!
