Good cell phone shop in the LA area??

Interested in getting the new HP hw6500 cell phone from Cingular.
But you always hear these stories how these cell phone shops in Chinatown (or wherever) are sooooooo much cheaper (e.g. getting the RAZR for $0 vs. $100).
Now I want to try it out.
Any suggestions? Experiences?
 
generally, most independant resellers can give you phones for reduced cost or for free because you do a new activation/sign a new contract with them. So if you are already in a contract you might have to extend it. Just a heads up.
