Good CDRW backup software?

I just installed a new LG high speed CDRW on a friend's computer but lo and behold the computer is old and he's using a EZ CD Creator, the burner worked for a bit but now he says the software is not recognizing it or something. So I think i'm gonna switch him to Nero, all he does is backup a folder everday onto a CDRW... will I need anything else when I install Nero? WinASPI drivers? the guy doesn't have internet so can't go online looking for drivers every 5min when installing Nero.

What is the operating system?
Windows XP has bwsic CD burn capability. It can write data files on CD/RW in multiple sessions. It can erase CD/RW. It can even burn music CD using the medai player. That would be the simplest solution.
