Good CD Brand For Video

Can anyone recommend a decent brand of CD media for burning video files for 2 VCD compatable DVD players I have. So far I've had mixed results using HP, Sony, Memorex and several no-name brands. Needless to say, the no-name brands had the poorest performance. Just trying to eliminate pixelating and freezing whenever I watch the VCD's that I burn. I've burned them using 2 different CD/DVD writers with similar results. So I can rule out that it's a burner related problem.
 
The problem might not be the media but the DVD player itself.
