good case for mini itx board?

I'm building a PC with a mini itx board. any good recommendations for a slim case that can fit a regular sized pcie card as well?

1. budget
2. how slim do you need?
3. what cpu cooler do you intend to use? because this can affect the case greatly...
4. what video card (if applicable) will you put in the machine? a standard pci-e card can mean many things...

I just finished my mini itx build based on an Inwin 901. Wasn't planning on oc the unit, and I wants the system on top of my desk with an optical drive. The result is the 901 with a Panasonic uj-265 slot loading blu ray writer.

Phanteks Enthoo Evolv iTX

at first glimps looks like a great case.
it seems to contain a lot of the wire management features you would find in much larger cases.

the only thing i dont like about it tho is the fact the motherboard is mounted vertically.

I am a fan of horizontal mount... like fractal node 304, however a horizontal mounted case will lead the case to be a bit boxy or square and wide.

But if i was looking for a slim case with good features and can accept a long videocard i would probably build from a Enthoo evolv

Phanteks Evolv...

Will be getting this case for my next build (Mini-ITX)...
Asus Z170I Pro Gaming
i7-6700k
Corsair AIO cpu cooler
Corsair DDR4-3200 memory (2x8GB)
EVGA blower style 1080
Samsung EVO 1TB SSD (have it)
EVGA GS650 P2 PS
27" Acer XB271HU (2560x1440), 165Hz, IPS, G-Sync (have it... best gaming monitor...WORD)

dont let it fool you...

it has wire management options u would only find in larger towers.
it can support a 120x2 AIO at top.
it isnt boxy as per your request, and it fits your budget.

in all honestly, its about as perfect as your gonna get.

You can go smaller, however, then you will probably need a modular PSU, so you dont get wire clutter.

OK

Just out of curiosity, what are a couple of these smaller options you're talking about?

DIYPC case... although im hearing it has some issues with quality...

The Raijintek Metis series:

same design of the DIY case as it comes in different colors...

Lian Li PC-Q01B

can only use stock heat sink or a heat sink that is very thin.... however its a very cheap Lian Li...

Thanks.

I was hoping for something as thin as this but it seems like a gpu wouldn't fit unfortunately.

Ncase M1... really small and funky... Very long thread at Hard Forums about it... expensive. Not sure, but I believe cooling options are somewhat limited so that any OC of the CPU would be quite restricted.

https://hardforum.com/threads/ncase-m1-a-crowdfunded-mini-itx-case-updates-in-first-post.1717132/ > Kickstarter funded...Thread is huge.

And then there is the Dan A4 case, the SMALLEST I've ever seen, KickStarter as well, and just finished first production run, AFAIK.

https://www.dan-cases.com/dana4.php Again, very limited OC potential, but awesome design, imo.

i dont think u actually read though the post because

I did read it, and stated in my comments, "...expensive..." I just wanted him to be aware of other cases he might not have been familiar with, even though outside his budget guidelines.
