i'm deciding between the ati radeon video cards. but i can't figure out whether the performance gain from say the 9600 pro to a 9700np is worth it, or from a 9700np to a 9800 np would be worth the price. You get the drift...anyone know which of these cards would be the most bang for the buck and last me at least a year?
 
I think the 9700np probably has the best price/performance ratio. Should get you through a year unless you're really picky about your framerates etc, which I'd doubt since you're looking at 9600pro.
 
i'm not gonna buy a vid card just so i'll have that extra 10 fps or something like that. All i want is good quality, good value, and good future use. So far it's either the 9700 np or the 9800 np. Can anyone tell me if i will be able to see the performance gain that the 9800 np has over the 9700 or will it just be benchmarks. i'm only using this for gaming and watching dvds, no graphic work of the sorts
