Couple you posted you guys rent cars often due to work and etc.

I've only had car rentals 3 times and all 3 times was a impala. That worked out well because it 4 and each of us had a duffel going a decent distance.

Now i'm looking for a car rental for vegas in mid april. Just a two days in mid week. Same situation, 4 people and 4 duffel bags. But this time i wanted something different. I've been on the many car sites but non listed their actual fleet, just " prem sedan " "like a caddy DTS "

I wanted more of prem car. Just dont feel like calling everyone and asking what is available. What have you guys been happy with?

Part of me wants a camaro with a possible drop top option. The other part of me wants to try out the buick line if they have the turbo models and maybe a navgiator to fit all of us nice.

I daily drive a g35x, if it was to be a sedan it would have to be equal or better. Otherwise it would be more of a novelty, like a drop top stang/camaro or a fancy SUV.

As long as its under $100/day we are happy. Mainly leaving vegas to go on the outskirts and then back.

If you want a large variety of premium cars go with Hertz, they usually have S60's, E350s, Corvettes, S80's.

I only rented with Enterprise and usually got a a Fusion or a Passat. I know enterprise has Regals with the base engine as I've seen them on the lots a few times, dunno about the turbos.

Enteprise has V6 Stang convertibles, never seen a GT or a Camaro though.

last time i was in florida, i went to rent the impala because it was 15$ a day. Enterprise as well. The whole parking lot was filled with drop top stangs and camaros v8 all day long.

Had that trip been more of driving trip i would of opted for one. But it was more of drive to point A and part it for 7 hours and drive to be B overnight and back to the airport.

I'd suggest reserving a "mid-size" car and then when you get to the lot, try to negotiate a deal on an upgrade.
If you're lucky, you might score a free upgrade.
Or if the lot has too many fancy cars, you might get a cheap upgrade (cheaper than if you reserved one).

Disclaimer: I rent cars from National Car every week for business travel. Lately, I've been seeing a lot of Avalons, Camries, Altimas, Sonatas in addition to the usual Fusions, Malibus and Impalas. The smaller cars are Chrysler 200s, Avengers, and Focuses. The tiny cars are Mazda2, Fiesta, Yaris, and the occasional Fiat 500.

My favorite upgrades have been the LaCrosse and the Chrysler 300 (loaded model). I have also downgraded myself to the Fiat 500 and Mazda2, just for kicks! :p

is it true that it doesn't cost anything to reserve a car?

I wanted to try to reserve car A right now. When i get there i wanted to see what prices and cars are on hand that day. Pick the better deal of the two. This assuming no reservation and cancel fee.

For $100/day, you should even be able to get yourself a premium SUV. When I worked at a car rental place, they usually went for $80-$90. Used to love driving the Lincoln MKX. 305hp V6 engine in it. That thing had balls.

Generally speaking, only luxury vehicles and large trucks go for over $100/day. Most vanilla renal companies in my experience generally don't rent high end vehicles to the general public. They're reserved for insurance replacements and VIPs. I'm talking stuff over $50k.

Where I worked, it didn't. There aren't any cancellation feels, though it's considered common courtesy to let them know in advance if you don't need it. You can check prices without reserving it though.

I looked around and it didn't seem wise for me to get SUV VS prem sedan. Price was $125-150 to $27-35.

So i'm opting to go with a prem sedan, which for budget is Taurus, charger, genesis, Grand Marquis.

Of the 4 two cars interested me, the charger and genesis, i assume both v6 models. Pretty tempted to go with the genesis as its a car i could buy, but if i pass up a hemi charger i would be pissed. They was not able to confirm v8 or v6, one can assume v6.

I'm also interested in recommendations for a mid-size sedan to rent. I'm going on a business trip soon, so shoot me some recommendations please. :)

I is. It would of worked minus luggage. Two of the four are females

My second idea was a Prius. I hate them but I never drove one. Then reality kicked in and now its back to a Prem sedan. I need to call avis and other guys to see what they have in their line ups.

I've driven rental Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Charger, Chevy Camaro, all model 2011 in the past year. Grand Cherokee was comfortable and a smooth ride, Charger was standard sedan but with a little more power, and the Camaro was a little uncomfortable for me in the driver's seat.

Charger is a decent rental, the Jeep is better if you have luggage, and I wouldn't recommend the Camaro for passengers. It's a sweet looking car but it's not going to be fun with 4 people in a coupe. Rear seating is okay for short trips and average height people in my '12 Mustang, but I've had people 6' tall and up in the back and it is not a good time having their knees in your back :D Trunk space for the Mustang isn't too bad, though. I forget how much room there is for the Camaro, but IIRC it was a little less.

EDIT: Looking at your choices, go for the Charger. No complaints from me, which is a good thing for a rental.
