get an older 80's truck or late 60's early 70's car/truck. learn to drive and handle one of these cars and then everything else will be a snap.

hmmm....maybe an older prelude or MX-6, something along those lines. maybe i'm totally off base here...but they get good mileage, are incredibly easy to drive, are sporty, but don't have enough power to intimidate a newer driver...(and also-reliability should be top-notch)

Look from something say from 87-93 from dodge/chrysler/plymouth with a turbo in it. They are very nice little cars, parts are cheap and very available, insurance is all but free ;) and they are peppy right out of the box and very easy and cheap to hop up. Oh yeah and they are pretty cheap now too, $2-3k should get you a very nice one in great shape that you could wail on some mustangs, etc with :)

Get a vehicle that is a little older, and is big...just in case you crash it.

I bet if you learn to control an ICBM, you'll be able to drive almost anything else.

:)

But I hear those 1/4mi in 11sec@109 Type-R's are for pro's only...

:p

Most any used Honda or Toyota will be user friendly and dependable. There are too many to be specific but find one whose looks you like and take it for a test drive.

Good luck on you new venture.

Well, one of the hottest guys I ever knew drove an old red Volvo. I turned down a guy in a brand new Toyota Supra for a guy in an ancient Rabbit Deisel that my dad called "the Wheelbarrow".

For the best value, I'd go with a Honda or Toyota. Just remember, the girls that are WORTH having don't care what you are driving! (But we would like to see a clean back seat...) :D

Id say get some early-mid 80s fairly big, boxy, and rwd american made car. They are cheap to buy and maintain atleast if you know anything about cars and if you don't they a fairly easy to learn on and when you wreck it in a year or so you will have learned a good lesson and will be much more carefull with your second nicer car :p.

My first car was a 81 dodge mirida with a /6 that I slammed into the back of a toyato pickup at about 20-25mph when I wasn't paying enough attention to the road. For the little over a year that I had it it was a fairly nice car.

81-87 Olds Cutlass Supreme.

These cars are relatively reliable, you can put them through hell, and they are real comfortable to get laid in...oops, I mean drive

i'd say get a honda accord '94-2000 model, they all drive very smooth, look fairly sporty and won't run your insurance bill that high...considering you're a new driver, don't even bother getting a sports car...unless you have the money to pay the outrageous insurance bill...

or if you really want to save money, get a civic, great mileage (i get about 35-40mpg) and not too bad looking, just don't rice it out...i kept everything stock on mine, i'm probably the only asian guy in the bay area with a stock civic :D
