Good bye Pushing Daisies. Last epi this coming Saturday.

ABC decided to show the three epi's of Pushing Daisies they still had filmed before cancelling the show. Next Saturday is the last one.

Sometimes this show bored me to death. Other times I found it quite enjoyable.

The thing I wonder about is how the hell did ABC EVER put this show on the air? If you haven't seen it, well, its weird. Not just quirky, not just off beat, it's the two girls one cup of network television.

In fact, perhaps the only show as unlikely to ever make it to network television was Kung Fu.

Interestingly, they were both on ABC.

Good bye, Pushing Daisies. At least you tried.

I really liked the first season but for some reason I couldn't get into the second one. 🙁

oooohhh. Time warp.
The last two I saw were pretty good. When they stick to solving crimes, its good. When it's Olive in a nunnery, or anything with the wacky aunts, ugh.

Is this the one with the pie-maker who brings people back to live with one touch, then kills them again (permanently) with a second? And he like brought his life-long crush back to life after she died, but now can never touch her again? Is so, my wife loves it. Sounds.. interesting.

Yea, that's the show.

Same thing for his dog.

I really liked it, but also found myself not tuning in towards the end. Now that it's gone, of course, I miss it and "cherish" it.

It's set production values and the writing for its heavily idiosyncratic dialogue style were first rate.

I guess that its unrelentingly arch psychedelic/cutesy style just doesn't wear well over time, like eating too much candy or something.

In small doses and the right mood, though, 'twas tres kewl. I'm thoroughly enjoying this last three episodes.

It was cutely quirky at first. The visual style was original, the characters were charming, the narration amusing. But that's all it was, style. The storylines sucked.

I have absolutely no problem with networks taking chances on different shows. We have to much of the same. That said, i didnt really like this show. My wife loved it though.

That sums it up quite well. It was fun, but I lost interest quickly, especially because of the writer's strike.

Wonderful, now we are stuck with piles of crap like the Bachlorette and Biggest Loser.

I mean, at least the show was original. It had some of the best visual styling on TV. The story was creative and the acting was decent. It's just that the Public can't appreciate anything that isn't mind numbing utter crap. Big Brother gets like 30 season, but good shows like this get killed so quick. It sucks!

We hadn't seen the show in forever and just assumed it got cancelled. Then I saw that it was on our DVR the other day. Wife will be happy we have a few more to watch.

I can see why it wasn't very popular, but it really was a gem of a show. It was strikingly different and fresh compared to most shows. If only viewers cared about that.

Yes, the science on the show was flawed.

:Q

Pushing Daisies was just another victim of the writer's strike. I can't remember where I read it but only chuck and Big Bang theory were the new shows that season that survived for a full 2nd season.

First season was great, have it on blu ray and it looks fantastic.

Second season I couldn't get passed the third or fourth episode without falling asleep everytime.

Actually they considered that. He can't eat his own pies for example, since they're made out of alive-again fruit.

Anyhow, it was a good series. It was colorful, upbeat, and used Oh Hell No liberally - all things missing from TV these days. It was like watching Scooby-Doo for grownups.😛

If only the rest of TV was half this interesting. It seems like the only things that survive are reality TV shows and "character driven dramas" (aka everyone acts Emo).

Scrubs died in ABC this season too. Although to be fair NBC was going to can them and they were only planning on having this last season anyhow.

It's like a cockroach, you can't kill it. Even after the main stars have left and it's a former shell of itself.🙁
