Good Button-Mashing games?

Hello, i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a button-mashing type game. With school going on, I don't have much time to game, and when i do, i don't have the time full out play a game. Some examples of what i mean by button mashing would be like.. the Fable games, or like diablo 3. A good storyline to it, like fable or diablo, also helps a lot. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

limited time and a button mashing game like diablo? does not go together very well. At last check, click fests like diablo take more time than you have available, it is why the game is considered additive to a lot of people.

As to a fun button masher with light story and time, try Magica. Though "Orcs Must Die" is also a fun click fest in my book.

Final Fantasy XIII.

Rubber band the analog stick forward, put a drinking bird on the attack button, and the game can play itself when you don't have time.

And every once in a while there is a snippet of text or a video that would qualify as "story" today.

GW2 honestly is pretty button mashy, just play something with heavy armor. Shank might be good too, but it gets pretty tough in some parts.

It's strange does buitton mashing has a different meaning in English ( I know it's already in English but in french we sometimes use english words and the meaning changes a bit)

When I think of button mashibng I think of games like Track 'n' field on the NES.
I've never heard about darksider, diablo, GW2 final fantasy or fable (or any of the games mentionned in this thread for that matter) being called button mashing before...

You're correct; Track'n'field is certainly the purest example of a "button-mashing" game. You're thinking of the term "button-mashing" in the most literal way possible, however.

In a game like Diablo, there's certainly more depth than that. The combat in Diablo is notorious for being extremely repetitive though, clicking the mouse over and over and over. So we like to over-exaggerate this fact and call it a "button-mashing" game.

To be perfectly honest, if you're repeatedly clicking in Diablo 2 or 3, you're doing it wrong.

That, and the OP really meant more hack and slash than button mash. Button mash really is just hitting nearly any old button quickly (like people who aren't any good at a particular fighting game, or like what the guy above said with track and field).
