I was thinking along the lines of a volcano 9...but newegg has 2 different ones...which one to get? I'll eventually be doing some overclocking once I get a new mobo and my unlocked athlon 1800+ in a few days :)

Definately go with an all copper heatsink. I bought one from TigerDirect... it's the one with the "Medium" speed fan that's 5500 RPM... and there's the high speed fan that's 6500. With the copper heatsink, some Arctic Silver 3, and the 5500 RPM fan, the XP2000 with Palomino core would run at 107 degrees F under 100% load for 12 hours... (did a torture test with Prime 95)

I would make sure you get a HSF that is at least 80mm in size so you don't have to use a 60mm screaming fan. Also, almost any CPU cooler will work with a fan running at 5000 RPMs. The trick is to find one that will keep the CPU cool with a fan running at 2000 to 3000 RPMs. The noise from 5K RPMs is deafening.
