Is this a good build? My budget is around 9-$1000. I still need a good motherboard that supports 1333FSB and has firewire headers. Also is the case I picked a good case? Thanks.

PS: This will be my "base" system, when I have everything running I will upgrade to 7900GS KO and ~500W PSU.

PSS: Im in Canada, so no newegg prices please. Thanks

If you want, you can spend another $100 and get the Q6600. You might also want to get some RAM with lower timings. Don't forget some case fans.

nah I don't need that much power. Anyways I asked around and a person told me that my 430W is not enough for the C2D, true?

Quote "but your power supply seems underpowered because your core 2 duos are going to eat power. Find a good 550W for your troubles."

Also what is a good motherboard for the E6750

Edit: Yea I have some case fans already from my old system, and is that case good? Thanks.

I have a 430 watt Cooler Master PSU with a C2D and it works fine.
Though more power never hurts. ;)

p35c-ds3r or p35-ds3r?

edit: once again.. good case? :p

edit: yea I might get the Q6600 since its 266$ on July 22nd. Is it a good choice for me? Since I don't upgrade that much. I only upgrade like every 2-4 years.

edit: ok.. looks like i'm getting the P5N-E SLI board, thou which one would be better the p35(c)-ds3r or this p5n-e sli?

p35c-ds3r if you have plans to use DDR3 RAM in the future. If not, the p35-ds3r is fine. IF you have no plans to run SLI, its better to get the p35 based mobo.

sometimes.. not a hardcore gamer so i dont need SLI. I'm more of a person who works and multi-tasks, and I upgrade every 2-4 years

If you're not gaming, get the cheaper P35 board.

Get the cheapest DDR2-800 that's on offer when you're buying, not the OCZ Platinum unless it's nearing the best value for 2GB PC2-6400.

hmm.. now that I think about it.. should i get the E6xxx and wait for better Quad Cores? or should I just get the Q6600?

Also if I should get the Q6600, I hear it gets pretty hot, what is a good, not too expensive, cooler for it, as the stock sucks, as I heard. Thanks.

Edit: Also like I said earlier i upgrade 2-4 years, is Q6600 more "future proof" or should I get the E6xxx and wait for 2nd/3rd gen quad cores which COULD be better than Q6600?
