should I look for the read speed or the write speed when buying an SSD ?
I lurked on userbench and found these SSDs too good to be true

but are they ? then ofcourse there were also transend and adata SSDs (had very low write speeds ie below 200 MBps) but have similar price tags :|

I'm confused, should I believe this site ?

128gb Samsung 850 EVO for $72 shipped worldwide. Just purchased one on ebay yesterday.
oh wow, alright...
I know, Samsung is the best.. but is also costly :(
& I'm not sure if its available in my region ..

Do you know anything about the other new 120GB SSDs like sandisk (ultra, extreme, etc), Transcend, Kingston (only the good 1s), Adata... ?

Oh damn. Excludes India. I would guess many 'bad payers' there. Mostly cheapos making fake claims. Its a GUESS. Don't grill me on that.

You could try newegg.... They ship to India AFAIK...

Yes. I needed one on a budget too for my bro and this is the best I could come up with. I'm living with the Samsung 840 which I bought last year when they were heavily discounted. Even with the firmware issue and less quality NAND, I find the performance great going from a mechanical HD.
Heck, the SSD has only 5GB free at the moment (250GB drive) but Samsung has over provisioning which I used to reserve 10% space.
