Ehh, IMHO, so much wrong with this, I can't even begin...

User with name @Ryzen , asking about a "Budget" build, has a $297.99 CPU Intel 6700K 4C/8T from like 4-5 years ago as first item.

Not sure if trolling.

Anyways, the Ryzen R5 3600, is likely faster in all but purely single-threaded games, and even then, it wouldn't lose by more than a few percent, and it only costs $199.99 (minus $10 on a sale at Newegg at various times, or cheaper with a mobo combo @ Newegg or @ Microcenter in-store, save like $30 on a combo I think).

One single stick of 4GB of DDR4-2133 RAM? C'mon, man. You can get 16GB (2x8GB) of DDR4-3000 or 3200 any day of the week for $60-65. No self-respecting gaming rig is going to run any actual games with only 4GB physical RAM. Windows 10 eats up almost all of that itself.

RaidMax PSU? Might as well buy some fireworks, and sparklers, and put those inside too.

In short, poorly balanced, and penny-wise but pound foolish.

I shall now invoke the name of @Flayed , who will hopefully show up and give us a good Ryzen budget build, for not much more money.

Edit: And if you want to build a 4C/4T Intel box, consider an i3-9100F ($89.99 every day, cheaper if you can find a mobo or DDR4 RAM combo), with ~4Ghz 4C Turbo or whatever, in a cheaper Intel 1151 300-series mobo, like the B365 Pro4 that I have next to me, and a cheap NVMe SSD, like the Team Group one (512GB for $59.99)

I would spend a little more, and get an i5-9400F + mobo + RAM combo @ Newegg for a little bit more money, the six real cores come in handy. (Supposedly, an all-core turbo of 3.90Ghz is possible with that CPU.)

I agree on pretty much all points with Larry. Too much for the CPU and not enough on the other parts. Would stay away from Raidmax, and though you did not list your GPU, you likely don't need 730 watts, better to go with a known quality unit.

You should have at least 8 GB of RAM. And at those price points, just combine the HDD and SSD, simply get a 500GB crucial or WD SSD. Or even a lesser 500GB would be fine. It just seems silly to buy a 128 GB SSD and a 500GB HDD these days.

I would go with a new Ryzen 3000 or cofeelake i5 build at this point.

What GPU did you have in mind, or already own, OP? That might help guide us a little more.

This is what I am considering for a Ryzen upgrade. Not the cheapest but with 8c16t good audio and lan and low latency ram.

  • Warning! Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.
  • Note:The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.
There are errors in the build of the chipset and motherboard

I need a good processor/motherboard and just ram and good case everything i have on my original prebuilt rig that im transferring everything to the new rig

There are no "errors" in the build of the chipset and motherboard, you just MIGHT have to update the bios. If you are that worried, get an inexpensive x570 board and a less expensive Ryzen, but DON'T pick a 5 year old quad core CPU for the build. Thats a huge mistake.

There is a bios flashback button on the rear panel of the motherboard so you can flash the bios from a usb stick.

Good point. I was just wondering if that MSI had the flashback feature, which since you found it does, you should be good then.
