Good brick/mortar store for LCD shopping?

I'm contemplating switching, finally, from my four year old CRT to my first LCD. I have a lot of worries coming from being a gamer and have to lock myself into a single resolution, but I'm obviously also concerned with overall quality. A lot of the guides and posts I've read recommend at least going to a store that sells LCDs and checking them out in person, even if you end up buying elsewhere.

Can anyone recommend a good store front for this? I'm in NYC, and I'm thinking right now of places like Circuit City, CompUSA, PC Richards, Best Buy... I don't know if I"m overlooking any, though, or which has the highest number of selections / display models.

Thanks for any tips!

My comp-usa has a good selection. They are more likley to have the LCD's that are online.
Write down the model #'s you like at the store and buy online it's cheaper in most cases.

In the city? J&R. Also check out B&H.

I'm paranoid about dead pixels, so buying a LCD online is out.
