good brand PSU?

what are the best brands to look for PSUs? My new 350w antec psu started to fry so I need to get a replacement....400w psu.

they are..but mine just went bezerk, the floppy power cable just started to smoke...not using that line anymore tho

I haven't had experience with many of these brands, but the ones I generally hear from word of mouth are nexus, PC power & cooling(expensive, but the best), fortron, sparkle, and enermax. You'll probably not be too bad off with another Antec if you're not sour on their PSUs, either.

if its new enough that you can get credit instead of just a replacement i would go with a higher wattage (400 at least for those specs), though i am sure the wattage had nothing to do with it smoking.

He should be able to run those specs on a good quality 300watt PSU like the Antec he had. However, I support this idea. Trade up! :thumbsup:

I've got an Antec TruePower 430 watt PSU and I love it. Been using it for about 7 months now without any problems whatsoever, and it's running my system fine as well.

Antec TRUE 430 is one of the best I've ever used. It is extremely quiet and will be able to handle most systems.

I've used a combination of sparkle power, antec, and enermax over the last couple years.

The antecs are the best of the bunch, imho. The enermax I got was complete crap, the loudest PS I've ever had, especially since it was billed as a particularly quiet one in the sales literature.

Agree.. but very pricey also!

I recommend the Vantec ION... fantastic supply.
