All the headphones I am being recommended are good just none with mics (I wouldnt suspect that either since they are just for listening and are of good quality) I've used boom mics in the past... they are alittle annoying falling over and what not in a game but i dont think I have much choice since mics are only attached too all but the cheapest headsets (or those made for call centers with like one ear cup only and a clip on the other side) So im wondering what mics would you guys recommend for voice in gaming?

Why didn't you just post that in the original message? From what I hear the pc150 (headphone/mic combo) is pretty good.

The mic I have right now is a real old POS. If I got a new one, would it be easier for people in HL2 to hear me?

Probably a dumb question, but I had to ask...

The best mics are Shure. :) But most computers don't have XLR. Though 1/4" to 3.5mm adapters are readily available. A Shure PG48 is only $30

Yes, I'm not sure why you would want a separate mic/headset for just gaming. The pc150 is supposed to be really good for it's headset and the mic is good also. The pc155 is good too, but twice the money.

ribbon im referring to a desktop computer "boom mic"... a mic thats on... well a boom. Plastic rod that moves up and down and sits in front of you while you speak... That's what I envisioned it as (Because one came with my SB LIVE! Gamer I got back in '98) Many moons ago heh...

Nady DJ-2M

Nady isn't really recommended in the Pro Audio world, but I'm sure its fine for gaming. You might wanna check that one out.
