Good book to read? (Thinking about The Killer Angels or Dispatches)

I'm looking for a good book to read. I normally hate novels (the last book I read was Art of War by Sun Tzu). I read D+D books, but I haven't found a good one recently. I was thinking of picking up Dispatches (a book about Vietnam where a lot of the narration from Apocalypse Now came from) or Killer Angels (a civil war book).

Any thoughts?

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot...:

Your mother's a whore.

killer angels was a great book (by michael shaara i think?)...If you're into fantasy books, The Legend of Huma is pretty much the best book i've ever read fantasy-wise, including all of salvatore's work. Its old though, first published in 1986 or something 🙂

We Were Soldiers Once and Young <--- Best War book ever. 100% better than the movie, and it tells the entire story, compared to the movie which only told half.

we were soldiers was a great read, definitely one of the better war novels written
in the same token, black hawk down is a great read as well...also much better than the movie.

Dhalgren by Samuel Delaney
No words can describe this book.... killer book.
Also anything by Carl Hiassen or Dave Barry (novels) if you are in the mood for something funny.

If you read the Killer Angels make sure you read the whole series including Gods and Generals, The Last Full Measure, Gone For Soldiers, Rise to Rebellion and The Glorious Cause.
