Theres so goddamn much to this game I haven't figured out. I found a post on here that pointed out a bunch of stuff for me, but I still need to know so much more.

Anybody got a link?

You can register at Gamespot for a basic membership (no fee). You can then view their gameguide on BF2.

you dont need any guides just put some dedication into it. I dont have BF2 yet because I cant run it but I did play battlefield1942 for 3 years and COD for about a year before i stopped (cough cd quit working) playing that. I got really good at BF42 despite lag problems and not up-to-date system issues because of living in alaska.. but you just need to learn how to play with how you perform.. do everything a little faster if you need to to make sure your bullets get to them . If what i am about to tell you is BS then please dont listen but this is how it was for 42 .. shoot in little bursts around the chest for long distance, and squat. never lay down. never camp in the same posision for more than 20 seconds or 1 kill. always knife the sniper bastards in the back. never use tanks in tight infantry maps. never nade spam. aim for the stomach or chest depending on the recoil. play as much as you can. join a clan. if someone is running sideways you have an additional lead. learn your lead for your favorite weapons. never run out in the open if you can help it, unless its to save a flag or something, you know. there your a professional already. If you want more detailed advice my MSN is angst_soldat@hotmail.com and xfire angstsoldat if you want to add me.

also if you have good FPS, not much lag, etc. look into becoming a helicopter pilot as well, those are pretty lethal if you know how to fly them. (which takes a lot of practice as well.)

I just bought the Prima guide, and it really doesn't contain anything that isn't learned in the first few hours of playing. Heck, it's really just an in-depth manual. A wasted $18, in my opinion, though it might make some good bathroom reading material.

Found it. Here it is.

Shoot the other guy before he shoots you.

Seriously, there is no strategy guide in the world that can prepare you for playing other players. Especially when the other 15 to 63 players are all unique and will make your gameplay totally different from server to server or even round to round. The only thing that can help you is knowing the controls and maps intimately. Send them flowers. Meet their parents. Sire their children. Do whatever you have to, but get to know them. That's the only thing that will give you a slight edge....the rest is just practice, skill, and luck...which is why the game is so compelling.

sorry i said manuals, manuals can be useful i meant to say guides and stuff that are in the thick books for 20$

oh yeah, and learn from other players. "It's alright to learn, even if its from your enemy" - some really oldass quote who i forgot who said it .. anyway just never play the same keep trying to make your self better. and try to check behind you as you do in front of you I always check behind me at least every 3 or 4 seconds because almost all games you can do a 360' spin in just a few miliseconds or whatever the time would be so you can just do it on the go.. and keep your mose sensitivity high but not too high where as soon as you notice someone on your screen you want your crosshair to be there..

I still suck at helicopter flying, whats the trick? I'm getting better but I can't even come close to landing, and i flip it a lot.

you just have to practice a lot man, try to make friends with good pilots, ask them how they do it. I think you may be flipping and spinning out of control midair because you are being too aggressive with your controls.. like trying to go too fast and pull up too quickly or spinning around a lot not knowing what you are doing. Just practice by your self, like create a game off your server locally for like 1 out of 3 people that can join it on a map that has lots of helicopters. and just practice bombing stationary targets. People will get pissed off at you if you try to practice in multiplayer games if you cant get at least 2 or 3 kills before losing it. I was never a good helicopter pilot because Desert Combat mod ran slow for me so I didnt play it much. I was a pretty good plane pilot though. They both take getting used to.

Prima guides are fairly useless. Nothing that can't be found on the internet for free.
