Not looking for a low profile card, just a good single slot GPU that can run lots of PS2 and other emulators as well as light gaming at 1080p (CS:GO, GW2, GTA 5 [low-mid settings])

Would be paired with a G3258, itx board, 8gb DDR3 and a solid state. I know in Europe, Gainward makes a true single slot GTX750, but I can't find any stateside.

If you aren't limited to a single slot with your choice chassis, you could always just remove the stock cooler and find an aftermarket low-pro... but I'm guessing ITX-only case?

I can't even remember the last single slot card I used that wasn't a firepro or quadro... 8800gt maybe? ...or hd 4850 a looooooong time ago.

Is the IGP not enough for that task? Plenty of single-slot cards out there but I don't know how much GPU PS2 emulators need...

Are you sure you're limited to only single slot? Because that would limit your choice to GTX 750's at ridiculously high costs. Would almost be better to just buy a new chassis for double slotters.

This form factor is no longer produced. You can get a GT 740 in single slot low profile for $60, and that's it. Then you jump to double slot low profile, where you can find the Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti at $120. That's because cooling a GPU is much easier when you can actually put a real heatsink on it, rather than just a fan. And that means it has to be wider than one slot.

It would be much easier to change the case than to look for a single-slot card. Many ITX cases that support dual cards aren't large. Take a look at something like the SilverStone SG13.

i have an antec fusion 430.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129030

it matches my denon receiver, and its a 4 slot mobo with all slots filled. i had no choice but to retire a 6770 double wide when i put a gigabit network card in the 4th slot and go with the single slot 7750.

yeah its old, E8400 and 865 chipset. just keeps running though.

the case was also a gift from my wife. better to replace the mobo than the case. it stays :)

I have the exact same case (love the fact the remote still works with Windows 10, despite not having any driver support past Windows 7). I recently put in a double wide RX 460 2GB for $85. Since I have a bias towards the case, I think you should get a new mobo with GbE (plenty these days). Out of curiosity, what cards do you have?

You can pick up a cheap H81 board and go Celeron Haswell or i3-4xxx for cheap or for a little more go with the H110 and a Celeron/i3 Skylake.

If you must remain fully single slot, an R5 250E is your best bet. It's a re-badged 7750, with 2 series GCN support and drivers (so it will have a little time left). It's slow even in GDDR5 form, being roughly half the performance of the 750 Ti. Light games you may be able to do 1080P at low settings. There is technically the Galaxy 750 Ti RAZOR that came in single slot form, but it's pretty much impossible to find (I don't think it ever came out at all). The XFX 250E Core Edition uses the GDDR5 form (much faster than the DDR3 variant), and overclocks fairly readily another 100Mhz if you're willing to bump the fan way up. It's about $100, but you'll have to find a used one on eBay or something. Pretty much non-existent new.

Considering these same cards are available for $75 new with twice the memory, I resonate with the others and say it's just not really worth it. Buying a new case and getting a competent GPU is a much better idea.

As @daxzy noted, you can get 2GB 460's for substantially less than the 250E Single Slot used, and the 460 slots between the NVIDIA 950 and 960. It's substantially faster than the 250E. It's definitely worth thinking what's truly important about your build. Is that form factor really everything?
