So for all you beer drinkers, what would you recommend to a guy who has tried beers before and not liked them? I like wine and vodka, and hard apple cider but have never found a beer that tastes good. The last person I asked said to try something called Blue Moon, and I thought it was just as bad as the others. I'm going to go pick up a pizza soon and might pickup some beer if there is one I'll like....

Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. It's expensive ($6.50-7.50 for a 6er) but worth it.

It's beer brewed with cherries, think light beer with a dash of grenedine

Try to get yourself a good blonde beer, they tend to have less of a pronounced beer taste than the darker beers. If you don't like beer in general though, I can't see why you would willfully buy something you don't like

Why would I want beer if I could get a blonde?

Not sure if you can get them in your area, but for easy-first-time-but-willing-beer-drinkers I would recommend:

Labatt 50
MGD
Coors Light

Personally I'd get both the beer and the blonde, the former would be cold and the latter hot. :D

If there's a good one that I haven't tried I'd like to. The first wines I tried were whites and I didn't like them. I tried reds though and found I did like them quite a bit more. If I can find a good variety of beer (I haven't had much, maybe what I've had is crap) so if I can find a good one.........

New Belgium is a micro brewery out of Fort Collins CO> (ironically where I live) and they make some awesome beers. Try them with a lemon in them:
1. Sunshine Wheat
2. Fat Tire

Imports:
Anything from belgium, try Stella Artois very easy beer.
Italian beers suck.

It depends on what type of beer you want... Some beers taste sweet, some taste bitter, some are right down the middle, and some even taste like barley.

If you want sweet, try an el-cheap IceHouse.

middle, bud light

bitter, heinecken

Now.. there's dark, lager, ale, etc..

try Guiness draught if you haven't yet - the cans are better. Make sure you pour them into a glass and wait about 5 minutes for it to warm up a little

You can even get rice beers.. like Kirin Lager - it really isn't bad

I forgot another:
Hefe Weizen (Spelling??)

Extremely sweet which you might like, because it sounds like you like the sweet stuff.

That is just a type so give it a whirl.

I've tried guinness and thought it was like chewing on a rubber band :D

I went out and the place I went to had a pretty poor selection so I would up with sam adams boston lager. When I get to my place I'll have to hit a liquor store there.....ahhh the advantages of living in a college town.

The boston lager was okay, probably better than most of the others I've had. Its a little drier than I like though. I think the next one I'll get something a little lighter and sweeter.

u r sick.

there are lots of fruity beers (as in they taste fruitly...not gay) like sam adams strawberry blonde...pete's wicked cherry. Honey brown is a good starter. If you can get it, I HIGHLY recommend magic hats of any kind. they are > j00 and they have tidbits of wisdom on the bottom of the caps...which make more and more sense the more you drink. iirc Blue Moon is a belgian white beer, but it's not a very good one. In the winter time, saranac releases the 12 beers of winter...the caramel porter and the belgian white in that case are very awesome. then you have the saranac standard beers like black and tans etc...the other beers are meh.

Then again, beer just might not be your style. For pizza, grab some cider.

BASS ALE.

or sapparo only if you buy it in the little cans, so you don't have to drink that much if you don't like it.

For first time drinkers, stick with ales that have a light taste.

ANYTHING imported from Belgium is good.
