I just switched to the 21.83 drivers from 21.88 yesterday. Hope that will keep the error at bay. The error seems to occur when I have multiple graphic intensive apps running simultaneously (e.g. IE and photo editing program, or multiple IE windows).

The 27.xx series aren't even feasible for me--the whole system would lock up after less than FIVE MINUTES!!

You're probably better off anyway. I don't have any problems using the v23.11 and above drivers, but I'm using the v21.83's by choice. Except for 3dmark2001, I get much better gaming performance with the older drivers, especially with games based on the UT/Unreal engine and a few other DX7 titles.
